COURSE BACKGROUND

Travel & Tourism enables students with an understanding of South African geography, its flora and fauna as well as the freedom to participate in his industry of creativity and contribute to the county’s image.
The travel and tourism industries in South Africa are increasingly emerging as among the key contributors to the economy.
Travel and Tourism (N4-N6) aims to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and skills for a career in tourism with a focus on the travel sector. Upon completion of the 18-month theoretical component, students must complete an 18-month practical component by working in the tourism industry. This ensures that students are well prepared to face the world of work as an employee in the tourism industry.

This program will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills for a career in tourism with a focus on the travel sector. - Financial Record Keeping, Principles of South African Law
- Fares within Africa
- Dealing with inquiries, complaints and conflict, Written Communication, Presentations, Advertising, Organisational Communication
- Hotel Organisation, The Hotel Reception, Reception, Legal Aspects
- Car Hire, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Special International Travel, Hotel Reservations, Tour Planning, and Budgeting
Qualification: A National N Diploma in Tourism Management is awarded on successful completion of this program
Duration: Each level takes 6 Months full time to complete (a total of 18 months to complete the theory) and then 18 months of practical in the industry. Generally, it takes 3 years to qualify for a National Diploma.
In-depth description: Students complete three certificates (N4-N6) and 18 months of in-service training, at the end of which a National N Diploma in Tourism Management is awarded if the student meets all the relevant criteria. The course structure is laid out so that you can follow a stream that suits your requirement.

To prepare consultants for the tourism industry who can correctly complete the necessary documentation and provide efficiently for the needs of tourists in terms of travel services required.
Tourist Destinations
To prepare consultants for the tourism industry by generating a desire in students to experience tourism and guiding them to understand the complex interaction of the tourism industry while teaching them knowledge required to sell tourism products.
Tourist Communication
To provide the student with the skills to express himself/herself clearly, correctly and concisely in oral as well as in written communication. To create an understanding of important aspects of interpersonal relationships in order for the student to function more effectively in the work situation. To assist the student to develop self-confidence in his/her social interactions.
Travel Office Procedures
To enable the tourism student, with the required practical training in office procedures and marketing strategies, to perform the administrative and marketing functions attached to the post of the tourism consultant confidently.

National Certificate (N4/N5): Tourism Communication, Tourist Destinations, Travel Services Travel Office Procedures.
National Certificate (N5-N6): Economics, Entrepreneurship & Business Management, Computer Practice, Marketing Management, Financial Accounting.
