A legal secretary must be proficient in SA law practices and use this to assist Legal Managers in an organization. Strong administrative, computer and communication skills are necessary to perform daily operational skills. This exciting and dynamic profession will require you to work in complex situations, often with tight deadlines, as you prepare information for clients or relevant brands. If you have the personality for a career as a legal secretary, this course will provide you with the knowledge on legal and office practices, information processing, communication, marketing and personnel management.

  • Any individuals who are or wish to be involved in Secretarial and Administrative duties will access this qualification.
  • This course allows students to develop the skills required to enter the arena of Administration and Secretarial. The course provide general business skills and practical approaches to all aspects of secretarial and Administration.

A National Senior Certificate or an appropriate National Certificate (N3), or an equivalent qualification.

Upon completion of the Legal Secretary course, certification will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training [DHET]. The National Diploma in Legal Secretary is made up of the following courses which are done over a period of 18 months.

National Certificate (N4 – N6): Office Practice, Mercantile Law, Communication, Information Processing, Legal Practice [N5-6], And Elective: Computer Practice, Public Administration, Financial Accounting, And Introductory Accounting.

After completing the management assistant/office administration, certification will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training [DHET].

The National Diploma in Office Administration/ Management Assistant is made up of the following courses which are done over a period of 18 months.
