COURSE BACKGROUND

A Profession as admirable as that of Civil Engineering requires large-scale projects like railways, roads, and bridges, and all other heavy construction projects.
Civil Engineering is involved in a multitude of tasks of planning, designing, constructing, and operating. For anyone who wants to pursue a career in developing the living standards of tomorrow, commitment to building then Civil Engineering will bring great rewards.

The NATED N4-N6 Civil/Building Engineering qualification covers levels N4-N6 and is designed to provide the theory of Civil/Building Engineering and an optional practical component. You can attain a National Certificate or Diploma once you have worked 24 months (2000 working hours) in your field of study. This qualification consists of one compulsory part (N1-N6 theory) and two optional practical parts, beginners level (done between N1-N3) and advanced (done between N4-N6)

OR

  • Module 2: Plumbing materials – basic recognition of copper, brass, lead, mild steel, cast iron, tin & zinc, aluminum and stainless steel will be demonstrated.
  • Module 3: Tests, including the object of such tests – site tests on materials: cleanliness of aggregates, slump tests, Portland cement tests on tensile strength, and setting time will be demonstrated.
  • Module 4: Construction – including preparation, precautions, and basic principles will be covered: basic setting out of structures, bonding patterns of brickwork, tiled and plaster finishes.

Level 2 Civil Engineering Practicals: 120 Hours

You can complete 3 weeks of optional ADVANCED practical hours within your field of study. This is done just after either N4 or before N6 and will count towards your practical hours required to write the trade test.

This program will cover the following modules:
