COURSE BACKGROUND: INVESTMENT ADVISORY (LEVEL 5)
The Investment Advisory (Level 5) qualification prepares students to work within the investment advisory industry. It focuses on essential knowledge and practical skills needed to advise clients on investment opportunities, regulatory requirements, and the implementation of investment decisions. The course is designed for those who are keen to pursue a career in advising clients about various investment opportunities while adhering to regulatory standards. To be eligible for this qualification, candidates must have an NQF Level 4 qualification with Mathematics.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To enroll in the Investment Advisory (Level 5) program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- NQF Level 4 qualification
- Mathematics as part of the previous qualification


KNOWLEDGE MODULES
The qualification includes the following compulsory knowledge modules, totaling 89 credits:
- Overview of the Investment Advisory Industry, Level 5 (13 Credits)
- Regulatory Requirements for Advising Clients Regarding Insurance and Investments, Level 5 (17 Credits)
- Fundamentals of Investments, Level 5 (30 Credits)
- Principles of Providing Advice to Clients Regarding Investments, Level 6 (29 Credits)
PRACTICAL SKILL MODULES
The Investment Advisory (Level 5) qualification also includes practical skill modules, totaling 92 credits:
- Research, Analyze, and Conduct Due-Diligence of Investment Opportunities, Level 6 (42 Credits)
- Advise Clients Regarding Potential Investment Opportunities, Level 6 (41 Credits)
- Facilitate the Implementation of Agreed Investment Decisions, Level 6 (9 Credits)
WORK EXPERIENCE MODULES
Students are required to complete the following work experience module, contributing 32 credits:
- Participate in the Processes of Advising on Investment Decisions over a six-month period, Level 5 (32 Credits)
KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the Investment Advisory (Level 5) program, students will be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills needed to advise clients on investment opportunities. They will understand the regulatory environment, investment strategies, and the financial tools needed to implement successful investment decisions.

Students need to have access to the Microsoft Office Suite (inclusive of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Certification
Learners who have passed National Examination will be awarded Occupational Certificate: MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE by Quality Council. Certificates are only issued to students that pass the EISA (NATIONAL EXAMS) whereby this certificate is Nationally and Internationally recognized.
