COURSE BACKGROUND

Entry Requirements:The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is a NQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent.
This qualification is made up of the following compulsory Knowledge and Practical Skill Modules:
Knowledge Modules:
- Social Auxiliary Work and Social Welfare Services in the South African Context (28 credits)
- Social Work – Methods and Principles (9 credits)
- Communication and Life Skills in Social Auxiliary Work (13 credits)
Total Credits for Knowledge Modules: 50
Practical Skill Modules:
- Render Basic Counselling and Support (7 credits)
- Support the Processes to Intervene with Individuals and Families (4 credits)
- Facilitate Educational, Life Skills, and Support Group Programs (7 credits)
- Assist in Implementation of Community Development Processes (8 credits)
- Assist with Obtaining and Keeping Data for Social Services (7 credits)
Total Credits for Practical Skill Modules: 33
Work Experience Modules:
- Exposure to the Client Counselling and Referral Processes (10 credits)
- Exposure to the Facilitation of Non-Therapeutic Group Processes (14 credits)
- Exposure to Community Development Processes (12 credits)
- Exposure to Social Work Administration Processes (10 credits)
Total Credits for Work Experience Modules: 46

Certification
Learners who have passed National Examination will be awarded Occupational Certificate: MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE by Quality Council. Certificates are only issued to students that pass the EISA (NATIONAL EXAMS) whereby this certificate is Nationally and Internationally recognized.
