Revised Course Background
Course Duration
This Small Business Consultant course spans two years with two intakes per year—January and June.
National Examination
Students are required to complete internal assessments, including formative and summative assignments (01-16), as part of the General Assessments for the POE File. Monthly internal assessments, mid-year exams, and end-of-year exams help track students’ progress towards the final EISA Examinations, administered by Seta. Upon completing the course within 12, 18, or 24 months, students will be eligible to sit for the EISA Examinations.
Qualification Structure
The qualification is made up of three key components: Knowledge Modules, Practical Skill Modules, and Work Experience Modules.
Knowledge Modules
The knowledge modules include important topics such as:

- Principles of Marketing (Level 5, 5 Credits)

Total Credits for Knowledge Modules: 93
Practical Skill Modules
Practical modules include the evaluation of personal capability, due diligence checks, performance appraisal, strategic consulting, and change management.
Total Credits for Practical Skills Modules: 55
Work Experience Modules
Work experience modules focus on real-world procedures like performing business consulting services, evaluating business performance, implementing change management frameworks, and interpreting value chain influences.

Students need to have access to the Microsoft Office Suite (inclusive of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Learners who have passed National Examination will be awarded Occupational Certificate: Small business Consultant by Quality Council. Certificates are only issued to students that pass the EISA (NATIONAL EXAMS) whereby this certificate is Nationally and Internationally recognized.
