Travel and Tourism at Greenview College (N4 – N6)
Greenview College, established in 2012, is a leading institution for Travel and Tourism education in South Africa. The N4 – N6 Travel and Tourism program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the tourism industry, focusing on essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in the travel sector.
This program is structured to offer both theoretical learning and practical industry experience, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce. After completing 18 months of coursework, students gain hands-on experience in the tourism industry over an additional 18 months of practical training.
What You Will Learn in the Travel and Tourism Program
In the Travel and Tourism N4 – N6 program, students will acquire essential knowledge in areas such as:
- Financial record keeping and understanding South African law
- Handling fares, car hire, travel insurance, and special international travel
- Dealing with inquiries, complaints, and conflicts in the tourism sector
- Tourism marketing, organizational communication, and advertising
- Hotel reception and tour planning
After successful completion, you will be awarded a National N Diploma in Tourism Management.
Course Duration and Structure
The Traveling and Tourism N4 – N6 qualification spans three years, including both theoretical coursework and industry-based training.
- Theory Component: 18 months of full-time study, covering levels N4, N5, and N6.
- Practical Component: 18 months of hands-on training in the tourism industry.

The National Diploma in Travel & Tourism is made up of the following courses which are done over a period of 18 months.
National Certificate (N4/N5): Tourism Communication, Tourist Destinations, Travel Services Travel Office Procedures.
National Certificate (N5-N6): Economics, Entrepreneurship & Business Management, Computer Practice, Marketing Management, Financial Accounting.
