This program is designed to help students manage their own crèche or daycare center. Moreover, the program includes weekly industry exposure through experiential learning, offering students real-world experience in schools and daycare centers.

First Year
First Semester N4
- Education N4: Establishes a foundation for effective education, preparing students to support children’s development.

- Educare Didactics Theory and Practical N4: Teaches how to work with children at various developmental levels and create educational materials for the classroom.

Second Semester N5
- Educare Didactics Theory and Practicals N5: Expands on working with children of different ages and developing educational tools.
- Business Management and Entrepreneurship N5: Provides insight into starting and managing a daycare business, including how to write a business plan.
- Educational Psychology: Introduces learning theories, school readiness, and various approaches to early childcare delivery.

Course Duration and Examination Requirements
The Educare (N4 – N6) program spans two years, divided into four semesters, with two intakes per year (January and June). Throughout the course, students will undergo formative and summative assessments, including monthly internal exams, mid-year exams, and final exams. After completing their coursework, students must sit for the EISA Examinations, which are administered by SETA.

Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
Upon completion, certification will be issued from the Department of Higher Education & Training [DHET].
The National Diploma in Educare is made up of the following courses which are done over a period of 18 months.
National Certificate (N4): Education, Day-care Personnel Development, Child Health, And Educare Didactics: Theory and Practical.
National Certificate (N5/N6): Day-care Communication, Educational Psychology, Day-care Management, And Educare Didactics: Theory and Practical.
